Learning to See Part I

Please read part I of Learning to See.  We will practice the technique the author describes in order to better notice what is in the world around us.  Do you think this technique will help you?  How?

Feel free to go on to Parts 2 and 3, listed at the bottom of the article.

For full credit, you must comment on this reading no later November 17.

Also, please add to the "Lead" blog post.  Remember what makes a good lead - action words.  No use of the word "I".

Good leads make good reads

Hi!

Please read this article on how to write good copy leads.  Leads are the first sentence in a copy story and should be used to get your reader's attention.

After reading the article, please post three lead sentences as a comment on this blog that relate to photos you have taken so far this year or an event you have attended.  Identify the type of lead you have written according to the examples given in the article.

Most of you know how to post a comment - please ask one another for help if needed.

Due for a grade at the end of class.

Happy leading :)

Welcome to yearbook!

Welcome to the 2018 LCS yearbook!  We are so glad you have decided to join us in producing the best ever LCS yearbook.  If you haven't been on staff before, you will find that yearbook is so much more than a class - it is an adventure, a family, a publication, and yes, a lot of work. But, most importantly it is a reflection of life during the 2017-2018 school year here at LCS.  With the work comes a lot of fun and a true feeling of accomplishment.  So, let's roll up our sleeves and get to work!

This year you will be expected to spend a lot of time outside of the classroom, both taking pictures of school events and pounding the pavement in order to sell ad space. We will work together to design a plan that works best for you and your family in terms of transportation and scheduling.

Please see me at any time if you have any questions or concerns.  Last year's crew did a superb job and I know we will just keep getting better.  So - welcome!  Let's get to work!
